About Me

Yayi is an Environmentalist and Photographer holding a B.A.S. degree in Urban Sustainability with a concentration in Environmental Science from City University of New York Brooklyn College and an A.S in Fine Art from City University of LaGuardia Community College. Having interest in Science and the Arts is what led her to focus on Eco-spirituality and Ecofeminism concepts, thus allowing her to make the connection between the body and mind within nature. Her work has been featured at Queens Museum, Greenpoint Gallery, and various events around NYC.

Yayi is an Urban Park Ranger with New York City Parks and Recreation introducing and interpreting the natural world to thousands of New Yorkers with weekend adventure programs and outdoor education for New York City schools. Rangers believe connecting New Yorkers to their natural world is the first step in creating a sustainable city for the generations that follow us. Previously, she worked as an Environmental Educator with a non-profit organization called NYCH2O helping to lead water ecology outdoor education. She also worked as an Organizer for Food & Water Action helping to engage young voters in the 2018 New York State elections with a victorious win for State Senator nominee.
